FASHIONCLASH New Designer Competition Finalists

Saturday 10th if March the second edition of Runway Malta took place. FASHIONCLASH had the pleaseure to go again to this lovely country and choose 1 more designer that will complete our fashion show program.
Thanks to support of V.18 (Valletta 2018) and Maastricht and Euregio Meuse-Rhine VIA2018, we have launched the 'FASHIONCLASH New Designer Competition'.

Maastricht & Euregio Meuse-Rhine 2018 bid book presentation

In 2018, the Netherlands and Malta will be providing the two European Capitals of Culture. In December 2008 and 2009, the Maastricht municipal council decided to put the city forward as a candidate. Maastricht will not be alone, because the candidacy is being supported by the Dutch Province of Limburg and is being shaped in close cooperation with our partners Aachen, Liège, Heerlen, Hasselt and Sittard-Geleen. The Belgian provinces of Limburg and Liège, the Aachen region and the German-speaking Community in Belgium are also involved. That means that Maastricht is a candidate on behalf of the entire Meuse-Rhine Euroregion.

Maastricht & Euregio Meuse-Rhine joined forces to become a candidate European Capital of Culture for 2018. For several years now the Maastricht VIA2018 organisation worked hard on the concept for the bid book. Last night the very first version of the bid book was presented in a full house at Theater aan het Vrijthof in Maastricht. Everyone who is somehow invloved in culture in this Euregio was there.

FASHIONCLASH Maastricht 2012 Amsterdam Casting

Monday March 5th last FASHIONCLASH Maastricht 2012 Models casting took place. For the first time we did the casting at Canvas in Amsterdam. This year the selection of the models is going to be tough but we are very happy with the models that came to the castings.
Thanks to Sessibon for the great help and nice collaboration. And of course our dear friends and interns.

New FASHIONCLASH Studio

For those who did not know, we are no longer in Rechtstraat 88 and there is no FASHIONCLASH Store for now. FASHIONCLASH has a new 'temporary' studio at Bredestraat 24 A01 in Maastricht.
We are also happy that we will be sharing our new space with IXX and Derhalve.

We are happy that so many talented designers and artists from 3 continents and 29 countries have submited their work for FASHIONCLASH Maastricht 2012. But now comes the most fun and also the hardest task to curate the submitted work and create a another FASHIONCLASH.

Set to a backdrop of traditional Maltese landscape at Montekirsto Estate, Runway Malta is the only full night international fashion event on the island.

 “Last season was kind of a trial, so to speak. We didn’t know how the venue was going to work and weren’t sure about the layout of things. And we weren´t even sure the public would be into an entire day/night of shows like abroad, so it was all a bit of guessing going on. However, after getting the feedback and realising what we can achieve, we have not stopped at anything to bring the very best this time around.” Says organiser, Shideh Olafsson.
